Fragrant Meadows Herbal Soaps are created with you in mind.  We want you to be delighted with our soaps so we use only the finest ingredients available.  

We carefully combine olive, coconut, palm and castor oils to produce a base to which we can add other ingredients.  We picked the olive oil for its wonderful moisturizing qualities, the coconut oil for its ability to add lots of fluffy lather, the palm oil for its ability to produce a hard bar of soap and the castor oil for its heavy, protective qualities.  This combination makes a lovely, emollient soap, with lots and lots of soft, fluffy lather.  We may also include essential oils, fragrance oils, oatmeal, spices, milk, honey and many other ingredients for the beneficial qualities they add to our soap.  

What is an Essential Oil Soap?

Essential oil soaps are soaps we choose to fragrance with essential oils.  Plants produce essential oils.  The fragrance that surrounds you when you smell a rose, crinkle a peppermint leaf, or rub a sprig of lavender between your fingers, is the result of the essential oils produced by that plant.  That little drop of liquid you see when you squeeze an orange peel is the essential oil of that orange.  Essential oils are what gives plants their distinct scent and the flower, its perfume.  Essential oils and aromatic plants have been in use for thousands of years.  They have been used in perfume, incense, cosmetics, medicine, foods, and holistic remedies and when inhaled, they are said to have the ability to affect an individual's mood or feelings.  For these reasons, we at Fragrant Meadows Herbal Soaps Co. like to add essential oils to our soaps.  We feel that the essential oils are a delightfully, natural way to add fragrance.

What is a Perfumed Soap?

Perfumed soaps are scented with fragrance oils.  Fragrance oils are synthetic oils.  They are not natural and since they do not exist in nature, they have no aromatherapy value, however, fragrance oils do have some very major advantages.  Fragrance oils make it possible to enjoy very expensive fragrances, such as rose and jasmine.  Fragrance oils can also be used to imitate natures aromas, when those aromas don't really exist as essential oils, such as Lilac or Vanilla.  Fragrance oils can also be used as "fantasy scents", which only exist in the minds of their creators, such as Truly Feminine or Athens Greece.  It is for these reasons, that we, at Fragrant Meadows Herbal Soaps Co., like to add fragrance oils to some of our soaps.  We enjoy the additional choices which these oils provide and we are sure that you will too.  So, go ahead, escape reality and enter your own private world with our Fragrance oil soaps.  You will be glad you did.
